For me, visiting to the
museum is one of my favorite things. Visiting there means seeing traditional
clothes and arts, learning something including history and background, and making
my heart be satisfied. When I went to a trip, I always visit museum to learn
and to feel the country or prefecture (in Japan).
日本国内や海外を旅行する時、なるべくその歴史や雰囲気に触れるために美術館や博物館を訪れるようにするのが、常々心掛けていることです。美しい芸術や伝統美術を楽しみつつ、歴史に触れ、心も豊かになる。私にとっては、良いこと尽くしと思われるからです。
Today, I
went to Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) with my friends and enjoy seeing
Indian gem and fabric. I like to see beautiful gem although I don’t have mine. There
were beautiful pink pearl, ruby, emerald and sapphire. The most beautiful gem
was the sapphire located near exit. It was wonderful by all means, design,
smooth surface…But I was sure I couldn’t wear it. If I had worn, I couldn’t
have moved for tense!! How on earth did ladies WEAR them without much stress!!??
We only could learn how to MAKE them by good movie. The movie was interesting
and after I watched it I wanted to try (but looked difficult).
本日は、ビクトリア＆アルバート博物館というところを友人と訪れることにしました。インド産の宝石・インドの布製品を見に行くためです。宝石は持っていなくても見るのは好きなもの。とっても素敵なピンクパールやルビー、エメラルドやサファイアに興奮！一番美しかったのは、天然の形を保って作られたなめらかなサファイアであり、素敵なデザインのアクセサリーになっていてほれぼれしました。でも、私がこのようなものをつけたら、緊張して動けないような・・・昔のお金持ちって、ストレスたまったりしなかったのだろうか・・・・それは分からないですが、とりあえず、分かりやすい映像によりアクセサリーの作り方を見ることができ、満足しました。
After that,
we enjoyed attractive Indian fabric exhibition. In that place, taking pictures
was forbidden. But it was lucky for us. Taking picture sometimes become burden
and disruption of concentration to arts!
次にインドの魅力的な布の展示物を見に行きました。写真は禁止されていましたが、私たちにとっては、その方がかえって落ち着いてゆったりと見ることができます。
There were
many fabrics. Traditional clothes, carpets, and so on…there were very
beautiful, delicate, and expressed detail.
In front of
one display, I was likely to scream. In fact, I believe that Indian silk was
made by silkworms (white caterpillar. In my opinion, they are very cute and
beautiful. But I can’t touch of
course!!). But it was completely misunderstanding…You know, Indian silk was
made by BIG green caterpillars!! One of the displays was about the
caterpillars…There were many caterpillars on the branch…..It was like a
nightmare for me….Of course I like Indian silk. But, I don’t……….Stop thinking!
Raw materials is just the raw materials. Don’t think about it! But, if I had
stayed in India, I might thing they are pretty (???).
伝統的な服や絨毯等、本当に様々なものがありました。インドの布製品は美しく、繊細で、かつ細かい表現がされているものもあり、素晴らしいです。
何と、知らなかったのですが、インドの絹製品を作るのは、お蚕さんではありません。美しい、かつ可愛い白い蚕、ではなく、大きい緑色の芋虫なのです。。。いきなり、それを説明する映像が出てきて、悪夢のような光景が・・・・枝に、びっしりと・・・・（絶叫。。。という声も出ないこのショック・・）とりあえず、原料は原料、と割り切って、考えないことにしました。もしインドに住んでいたら、彼らを可愛いと思っていたのかもしれません。
This is a courtyard of the museum. My friends said, in summer, it was great and people could eat something sitting on the chair. We couldn’t enjoy food there. But we could beautiful night view of the museum!
この博物館は、中庭も美しいです。友人によると、夏も、美味しいお食事が中庭でいただけて違った魅力があるということでした。
In this
evening, I was impressed by the explanation about discrepancy between
automation and protection of traditional culture. As everyone knows, we can buy
many things because of industry development and introducing useful machine. But
sometimes people lost important things. One of them may be traditional products
by hand. Such products may not be so cheap. But hand-made products have warm
heart. I feel at home when I use or see them. The explanation said, people
began to buy cheap (made by machine) things when automation was introduced, and
many people lost their job. This may be difficult issue all over the world. I
love traditional cultures. Sometimes, traditional cultures might have to
protect by big power (Nation? Donation from rich person??).
この日の夕方で印象に残ったのは、インドにおいて生じたオートメーション化と伝統文化との間の矛盾に関する説明でした。機会により作業することで大量生産が可能となり、安く製品を手に入れることができます。一方で、それにより失うものもあります。私も、伝統文化が失われるのは悲しいと、常々、考えています。手作業で作られたものは、不思議な温かみがあり、私は、そういったものにより心が豊かになる感覚があります。インドも、機械化により雇用が失われ、その矛盾に苦しんだということ。これは難しい問題であり、もしかしたら、伝統文化を守るためには、国や、お金がある人の支援が必要なのかもしれません。
Duding
seeing exhibition, we got hungry. Because we remembered delicious Indian food!
For the finish of today’s exploration to Indian
culture, we enjoyed traditional Indian dishes at nice restaurant ”Moti Mahal”.
さて、インド展を見ていて、なんだかお腹が空いてきました・・・当然ながら、美味しいインド料理を思い出したからです(笑)。早速、Moti Mahalという近くのレストランへGo!
This is Sheek Kebab.
これは、シークケバブという、羊肉で作ったケバブです。
This is “Balti (kinds of curry. Very spicy but
delicious.)”, lamb Shank with tamarind sauce and misti Kodu (traditional
pumpkin. Very delicious!!).
バルチ（とても辛いカレーの一種であり、とても美味しいです）、ラム シュナンク（タマリンドソースがかかっています）、ミスティ コドゥ（伝統的なかぼちゃのお料理です）です。とても美味しいです。
