Today’s theme is enjoy atmosphere of “Mary Poppins” which is the movie about London’s nanny! My plan was…1. To join a walking tour of “Mary Poppins”, 2. To listen to beautiful music in St. Paul cathedral.
本日のテーマは、私のお気に入りの映画の一つである“メアリポピンズ”を満喫すること。ご存知の通り、メアリポピンズはロンドンの物語なので、せっかくロンドンにいる以上これを楽しまない手はない！本日の予定は・・・
メアリポピンズのウォーキングツアーに参加⇒セントポール寺院の素敵な合唱を聴きに行く
Mary Poppins walking tour was wonderful! The tour guide explained about Mary Poppins background (The movie of Mary Poppins was in the 1910 of London, author was in Australia and transferred to UK, her father was banker, she has twins as well as the novel, etc…) as well as sang for us with beautiful voice and dancing. It was very fun.
メアリーポピンズのツアーを見つけたので、それに参加してきました。ガイドさんが、映画の音楽を歌ってくれながら、映画や本の背景について色々と解説してくれるのは、参加する価値ありです。例えば、映画の舞台は1910年であること、筆者はオーストラリアから移住してきた、銀行員のお父さんを持つ英国人であること、筆者も小説版メアリポピンズと同様双子がいること、などなど・・・
何となく、ここはバンクスさんの銀行っぽい雰囲気があります。
映画で、冬にもかかわらず桜のような花が咲いているのが謎でしたが、本当にありました。
This place “St Paul Cathedral” is included in the most favorite scenes. The beautiful song of “Tuppence”.
実はセントポール寺院の２ペンスの歌が一番のお気に入りのシーンの一つです。そのシーンの背景になっている場所を撮影。
Also, I could learn a lot of interesting story. For example, stamp of the mail was invented in Britain.
This is just a post but it looks special after learning history.
さらにメアリポピンズ以外のロンドンの歴史の話もいろいろ詳しく聞くことが出来ます。知らなかったのですが、切手は英国で生まれたとのこと、これを知ったうえでいつもの赤いポストを見ると、なんだか特別なものに見える？？？
In the end of the tour, we could go to the high place of the building (Shopping mall named New Change near St. Paul station) and enjoy beautiful scenery of St Paul Cathedral, the court (I forget the name… but which is related to “votes for women” campaign.). You know, in the opening of movie of Mary Poppins, she was flying down from the sky. I enjoyed the scenery from the roof top place, thinking about the opening.
ツアー最後には、ニューチェンジのショッピングモールの最上階にある景色の良い場所に連れて行っていただきました。セントポール寺院や、女性の参政権運動で有名な裁判所等も見え、メアリポピンズの映画の冒頭でメアリが空から舞い降りてくるシーンを感慨深く思い浮かべながら、素敵な景色を楽しみました。
After the tour I went to Tate Modern via Millennium Bridge. Luckily, I found Christmas market as well, in front of museum. I could buy German style Christmas ornaments!!.
ツアー後は、ふと思いいたってテートモダンに行ってみました。ミレニアムビレッジを歩いていくと、運の良いことにクリスマスマーケットに出会うことが出来ました。早速、素敵なドイツのクリスマスオーナメントを購入。

Looking from higher place (Tate modern).上（テートモダン）から見るとこんな感じ。
Tate modern has very stylish atmosphere. There are 4 ray. Firstly I went to the restaurant on the 6th floor. The scenery was special. I saw St. Paul Cathedral and …. very nice! I could enjoyed (may be, most delicious) fish & chips lunch with nice British sparkling made in Hampstead. (In fact it was very expensive…but it was special gift for me!)
お洒落な雰囲気のテートモダンは、ギャラリー部分は４階立て、レストランは、６階にあります。歩いてお腹が空いたので、まずは景色が良いと噂のレストランに行ってみました。噂通り、素晴らしい景色であり、セントポール寺院も見ることができます。本日は、（ロンドン内で恐らく最高の）フィッシュアンドチップスと、英国ハムステッドで作られたスパークリングワイン（英国はスパークリングが有名だそうです）を楽しみました。
One of my favorite artist (Kandinsky)’s arts were not there now. But there were other great arts. Sometimes I found severe message, like desiring toward peace. All artists wanted to send a message for us. It was great expression without using languages. Their passion is conveyed to me properly. I was considering many things seeing these exhibition.
私の好きなカンディンスキーの絵が今の時期閉鎖されていたのは残念だけど、色々なアーティストのメッセージが伝わってくる素晴らしい作品ばかりでした。平和への願いを描いたもの等、かなりシビアなものもあります。言葉を使わずに人にものを伝える手段としての芸術は、とても心に響きます。
* If I had visited there in the morning, I would have enjoyed “Tate to Tate” clipper. There was nice services, the clipper from Tate Modern to Tate Britain.
（参考情報）もし朝からテートモダンに来る場合、テート＆テート という面白いテムズ川クルージングを使って、同じ日にテートブリテンに行ってみるのも良いと思います。
Lastly, we enjoyed services of St Paul Cathedral.
今日の締めくくりは、セントポール寺院での素敵な合唱でした。

6pm - Advent Procession
One of the year’s most dramatic services as a procession moves from darkness to light. Words and music focus on the Advent theme of light in darkness, hope in despair, and a new relationship with God in Christ. Sung by the Cathedral Choir.

It was wonderful. As you know, this place has beautiful ceiling art. Also, bible reading and beautiful song brought me special feeling. In December, Christmas special was planned. But it must be crowded so I bought great CD of Cathedral Choir. (After few weeks I listened to it. It was very good.)
セントポール寺院の美しい天井絵と相まって、美しく響く歌声を幻想的な雰囲気の中聴くのは、素晴らしいです。12月にもクリスマス限定のイベントがあるのですが、とても混雑するという話を聞いたため、クリスマスのCDを購入し、自宅フラットでゆったりと聴きました。
